Can’t Push a CLOB

Filed under: Technology — Christopher Murray @ 9:21 am

For those who dwell in the depths of Oracle … it appears that you cannot transfer data over a dblink when that data includes a CLOB. This seems like a pretty big limitation, especially in a data warehousing environment. Perhaps 10g corrects for this. (I should note, however, that there are tools and workarounds to push the data, but simply copying from one database to another as with other tables and structures does not work.)
